Two years ago, Roza, had a spark of an idea and pitched it to her partner, Marco:

“Let’s create a mezcal brand that actually means something.”

She booked him a plane ticket to Oaxaca, Mexico and scribbled on a note:

“We’ll figure it out, My Love.”

What followed felt more like an adventure film than a business plan — long days, dead ends, a few near-misses — and then, as Marco was about to let go, right in the middle of the rural valleys of Oaxaca, fate stepped in.

He found it. A freshly distilled batch of Cuishe mezcal by Jacinto, whose sacred family recipe had just come full circle. They shared a sip. Time slowed. Dreams began.

Roza & Marco told Bottle & Barrel:

“After meeting Jacinto, we didn’t step into mezcal to ride a wave. We stepped in because we saw a chance to protect and elevate something beautiful. Something real. And bring it to the world stage. We were so inspired by him, who like us, takes joy in living his life earnestly, turning obstacles into opportunities, driven by love, respect, and passion for life.”
